Knowledge and skills required to carry out workplace manual handling assessment on staff in order to implement remedial action where required.
This course is aimed at managers, seniors and experienced care staff who are themselves competent in manual handling and who are responsible for ensuring staff are carrying out safe procedures when moving and assisting people or manual handling objects.
Learners are to undertake practical and written assessment.
Course  Content
On successful completion of this course the learner will be qualified to:
Operate within the legal boundaries with regard to moving and assisting people and manual handling objects.
Understand the definition of competent staff and CQC requirements.
Understand how to prepare and carry out observations to assess competency.
How to recognise unsafe procedures and the occasions when to intervene.
Recognise when infection prevention and control procedures are not being followed.
How to record incorrect procedures, report findings and implement change.
Understand roles, responsibilities and company policy & procedures.
