Here at the Sunlight Group we place the customer and the community in which they live, at the heart of everything we do. Our person-centred approach allows us to deliver personalised services that are carefully tailored to best meet the needs of our customers.

Personal care and support are probably the broadest types of care we deliver as they involve skilled assistance with most aspects of daily life that can become increasingly difficult for some people.

Personal care normally includes help with washing, toileting, dressing, oral care, feeding, assistance with medication and getting up/going to bed. It is a very flexible type of care and can be arranged for a duration and frequency to suit anyone's needs.

Support involves less hands-on care, as it focuses on help with daily activities such as trips out to the shops, paying bills, meeting friends etc. It is a vital part of ensuring that people retain their independence for as long as possible.

Our Breaks for Carers or Respite service is aimed at supporting those that already care for someone, but who now need a break for whatever reason. It could be a much-deserved holiday, illness or a planned trip to hospital which means that additional help is required in place of the usual carer.

How Our Respite Care at Home Works

We work closely with everyone involved with the care to make sure that the changeover is as seamless as possible and can be available on an hourly or daily basis or as a live-in care package which is a longer-term solution.

Live in Care

When you or a loved one require more intensive support or personal care in the comfort and privacy of your own home, then a live-in care solution from Sunlight Care offers the perfect blend of support, flexibility and continuity and is an ideal and cost-effective alternative to a nursing or care home.

Live-in care involves a fully trained care worker or nurse coming to live at a person’s home so that they can provide full time care and companionship for that individual. They are on hand to help with personal care, undertake household chores such as cooking, cleaning, laundry and shopping as well as providing the very important aspect of companionship.

Sunlight Care, offers Live-in services for individuals who require respite or long-term live-in care. We can provide the following types of services to children, young people, adults and our elderly clients:

  • Companionship

  • Personal care and support

  • Nursing care

  • Specialist Services

When you're having a stay in hospital, some extra support ready for you at home can be just what you need to leave hospital sooner and ease the transition to being back at home. Our caring and professional teams of nurses, care and support workers are on hand to give you just the care at home you need, from a short daily visit right up to 24-hour specialist nurse cover for more complex needs. And it can be a lot more affordable than you might think.

We'll plan with you and your family the support and care you require from our 4 stage process. We will also work closely with your GP, hospital consultant and community health team to ensure you receive the right care at home from hospital, at the right time.

The Companionship service gives people back the freedom to enjoy these simple but life-enhancing experiences by offering support and encouragement from discreet, mature and highly trained care staff. This service is ideal for people who do not necessarily need personal care and support but sometimes struggle with daily activities and find their quality of life poorer as a result. It might be a trip to the shops, help with reading or even an outing to the cinema. Whatever your need, our Companionship service can help. Just look at the range of activities that we can support you with

  • Organising outings and trips

  • Accompany to lunch or dinner

  • Arranging and attending appointments

  • Assistance with shopping and food preparation

  • Taking part in hobbies and crafts
